Weighing just over 4 pounds and capable of being easily held in the palm of your hand, it nonetheless features a 1.25-horsepower motor that’s also equipped with onboard electronic feedback and soft-start functionality, reducing twist at start-up and improving control and precision as well as maintaining speed under load. Its contoured gripping surface is set low on the router, lowering the center of gravity for maximum control and comfort. You can guide the material along the router’s edge for the utmost in accuracy, and flared base arches provide a straightforward reference point as you work.
The 450PK’s patent-pending depth adjustment ring not only offers a user-friendly depth setting but also facilitates controlled bit-depth changes to within 1/64-inch. The large, low-pressure, spindle lock button (and 12-position spindle lock) further increases accuracy and easy of use when it comes to bit changes. The extended eight-slot, 1/4-inch collet delivers ideal bit contact and is easy to adjust, and the quick-release tabs make for a simple base release, which is convenient because the 450PK comes with both a fixed base and a plunge base included.
